Seymour Street Arts Precinct Road Mural
This mural was commissioned by Port Macquarie Hastings Council as part of the ‘Switch on Seymour’ project, which saw the Laurieton street transformed into a lively arts precinct for 5 months with the aim of celebrating the town’s character, boosting it’s economic and cultural profile and bringing people together.
Birpai artist Corina Latimore and I collaborated to create the giant 100+ metre road mural. The painting is representative of the beautiful Camden Haven River. 3 big circles are placed throughout, symbolic of the three brother mountains - Dooragan, Mooragan and Booragan. There are Kangaroo tracks heading up to the mountain, bird tracks heading down to the river, and pipi shells, a nourishing food source, running through the centre.
